Business owners from Holbeach and Long Sutton will join forces this weekend, at an event which aims to get people moving

Two businesswomen will be joining forces this weekend, in a bid to get people moving in our area.

Cath Carter, of Utopia Hair and Beauty in Holbeach and Pippa Burrows of Sutton Bridge’s Pippa’s Pantry, will be hosting a steps and protein pancakes event outside the Bridge Road cafe on Sunday, June 30 between 10am and 12pm.

The duo got in contact with each other after Pippa starting tuning in to watch Cath’s Facebook live videos, which features fitness content and beauty tips and tricks.

Cath said: “Pippa saw my weight loss journey after watching my Facebook live videos and we just thought about having an event which will get more people moving and hopefully inspire them to get active.

“It is exciting for me because I’m used to doing everything online so it will be nice to just promote a bit of healthy living to people in person – we need to fight for our health and get people moving.

“It will be nice for local people to get together and we could maybe do it on a regular basis or for charity in the future. I feel excited but I am a bit dubious in case nobody turns up.”

The event will include seated or standing steps along to music on the green outside, and Pippa will be making protein pancakes with yogurt and fresh fruit for attendees to enjoy after the class.

Cath added: “Getting fit and active can be quite a sensitive topic for some people so I’m just happy to help people – as long as you’re moving, you’re winning.”

It will cost £10 to take part and there is no need to book, just turn up and pay on the day.
