Winter Wonderland with Santa’s grotto and elf trail coming to Spalding’s Ayscoughfee Hall and Gardens




A magical elf trail and Santa’s grotto will be among the attractions on offer at a Winter Wonderland.

Spalding’s Ayscoughfee Hall and Gardens will be transformed for the festive period courtesy of the Flower Parade team.

On Saturday, December 7, you can visit Santa’s grotto, play family games, watch the performance of local choirs singing plus take part in a magical elf trail with hidden treasures and lots more festive fun-filled activities between noon and 6pm.

The following Saturday (December 14) you can come and visit Santa’s Grotto at Ayscoughfee Hall.

This event will run from 11am to 2pm where children will have the opportunity to visit Santa and receive a free gift.

There will also be free Christmas craft activities organised by South Holland District Council’s communities’ team.

Throughout December, Ayscoughfee Hall will host a special advent calendar-style social media campaign.

Each day, followers and viewers will get a sneak peek look at a what lies behind all kind of different doors within the hall, museum and gardens.

This unique campaign aims to share the magic and history of Ayscoughfee Hall, offering a glimpse into areas not usually accessible to the public.

Coun Henry Bingham, portfolio holder for assets and strategic planning said: "We are very excited to share the festive spirit within our community through this innovative campaign.

"The advent calendar campaign will provide a daily dose of Christmas fun and provide a special insider knowledge to the viewers of the rich heritage of Ayscoughfee Hall.

“I encourage everyone to attend the events and follow Ayscoughfee Hall’s social media channels, so they don’t miss out! And wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas season.”

Ayscoughfee Hall Museum will close its doors to the public at 4pm on December 15 and will reopen on Wednesday January 8, 2025.

During this period, visitors are encouraged to explore the beautiful gardens, which will remain open every day except Christmas Day.

The tennis courts will continue to follow their normal opening times throughout the holiday season and will be accessible to book on the usual website.
