Woman suffered life changing injuries in A17 crash at Saracen’s Head
A woman remains in hospital with life changing injuries as a result of a crash on the A17.
Police had closed the A17 at Saracen’s Head for much of yesterday (Thursday, May 15) following a collision involving a lorry and a car.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 70s, is being treated for life changing injuries as a result of the crash. No other serious injuries were reported.
Now officers are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage of the incident, which was reported just before 2pm at the Washway Road section of the A17.
A force spokesman said: “Were you travelling along the A17 between the A16 junction for Sutterton Dowdyke and the A151 junction for Whaplode between 1.30pm and 2pm yesterday (Thursday, 15 May)?
“Did you see a 71 plate white Seat Ibiza travelling eastbound in the Norfolk direction, or a white Renault lorry travelling in the Boston direction?
“Do you have dashcam which might have captured the collision itself of the vehicles involved prior to the collision?
“We want to thank everyone who has so far proactively approached us with information, and appeal to anyone else we may not have spoken with to come forward with any information they have.”
The road was closed until just before 1am while initial investigations were carried out and the vehicles recovered.
