Surfleet Seas End swimmers and young Spalding rugby players in 1996

Pupils at Surfleet Seas End Primary School were getting in the swim of things preparing for the BT Swimathlon 25 years ago.

The children, aged eight to 11, were forming a marathon team.

Each had to swim 1000m at the Castle Pool in Spalding.

Spalding Under-12s mini rugby team was one of several featured in the Spalding Guardian 25 years ago this week.

Rugby stars of the future were enjoying training and playing at the Memorial Field every weekend.
