Running in the sunshine
Six hundred pupils from13 schools from across the district came together in glorious sunshine to enjoy cross country races at Spalding Grammar School on Tuesday.
The competitive races took place between teams for Y5/6 boys and girls and Y3/4 boys and girls. Schools could enter teams of ten runners and the first five for each team scored for their school.
The event was one of many competitions and festivals this year put on by Rupert Gibson of School Games organiser Agilitas Sports, as part of the London 2012 legacy.
The event was also run in conjunction with Nene Valley Harriers who would love to see more young people involved in cross country and athletics at the club. For further details of how to get involved in cross country or athletics, visit www.nvh.org.uk
Rupert thanked the Harriers, plus Chris Allen and the sports leader students from The Priory School who marshalled the course and provided race hares and Spalding Grammar School for the use of their fields.
