Peterborough and District Football League round-up




Crowland Town are through to their first cup final for six years.

The Bees booked their place in the final of the Peterborough Senior Cup after a penalty shoot-out success in their last four clash with Leverington on Saturday.

Harry Grigas grabbed the goal for Crowland as the match finished 1-1 before custodian Aaron Fagan saved two spot kicks in the shoot-out to send the hosts through.

Crowland - who have been drawn at home to Lincolnshire League side Ruston Sports in the semi-finals of the county Junior Cup - will face either Holbeach Reserves or Warboys in the final.

They are due to meet on Saturday, February 15, in their semi-final clash at Carter's Park.

Moulton Harrox had talisman Dec Earth sent off in their 3-2 away loss at Uppingham Town in the Peterborough League Premier Division on Saturday.

Earth and Marcus Parry had earlier been on target in the defeat against the league leaders who netted their winner late on.

Deeping Rangers Reserves were 2-0 home winners over Whittlesey Reserves while Deeping United were unable to field a side for their home match with FC Peterborough.

Long Sutton shared the spoils in a 3-3 home draw with Hampton United after goals from Jack Baker, Jordan Nyang and Jamie Taylor.

Mark Garner grabbed both goals for Sutton Bridge in their 2-1 home win over Hampton United Reserves in Division Two.

A solitary strike from Nayden Koychev earned Tydd a 1-0 away win at Thorney while Bourne Town Reserves lost 4-1 at Netherton United in the semi-final of the Peterborough Challenge Cup despite a goal from Sam Webster.

Ryan Stanberry scored the only goal of the game as Moulton Harrox Reserves edged out Long Sutton's second string in Division Three.

Whaplode Drove Reserves lost 4-1 at Sawtry despite a goal from Jack Cyngier while Elsea Park Eagles were unable to raise a side for the second time this season to face South Lincs Swifts.

Swifts travel to face Long Sutton on Saturday in the semi-final of the Spalding Inter Services Cup while Tydd tackle Sutton Bridge in the other last four tie. Both games kick-off at 1.30pm.

Pinchbeck United Development went down to a 9-2 away loss at Swineshead in the Premier Division of the Boston League with Mark Garner and Ben Laud scoring for the Knights.

Division Three leaders Holbeach Bank played out a 1-1 home draw with Old Leake as Warren Hebblethwaite netted for the hosts.
