Spalding United and Stamford AFC are beaten by South Shields and Macclesfield in the FA Cup




Spalding and Stamford saw their FA Cup adventures ended by higher level opposition in Saturday's fourth qualifying round ties.

The Tulips were beaten 4-0 at National League North leaders South Shields while a solitary strike sent Stamford to defeat at step two hosts Macclesfield after a gallant display from Graham Drury's side.

Spalding shipped three goals inside the opening 19 minutes of their match in South Tyneside before conceding a fourth early in the second period.

Stamford conceded late in the first half at National League North side Macclesfield as Paul Dawson's goal ultimately separated the two sides.

Bourne Town gained a decent point at Rugby Borough in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division with Brad Marshall netting their goal a couple of minutes before Tendai Daire's equaliser for their third-placed hosts.

Blackstones and Grantham Town both progressed to the next stage of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy.

Stones ran out 4-3 home winners over Brigg Town after scoring all of their goals in the opening period before holding off a fightback from their visitors.

Nathan Rudman netted twice for Stones with Cameron Rankin and Will Bestwick also on target.

Lee Shaw scored a hat-trick as Grantham Town defeated Winterton Rangers with Terry Atem and Andy Wright netting their other goals.

Deeping Rangers were beaten 3-0 at home by United Counties League Premier Division North leaders Kimberley Miners Welfare.

Pinchbeck United lost 3-1 at South Normanton in Division One with Flynn Slater scoring their goal in injury-time.

Holbeach suffered a 5-0 home loss to Thurlow Nunn League Division One North leaders Holland.
