Deeping Rangers sign Elliot Foster and Oleksandr Muzychuk ahead of their United Counties League clash with Kimberley Miners Welfare

Deeping Rangers have received a double boost ahead of a crucial clash in their battle against relegation from the top flight of the United Counties League.

The third-from-bottom Clarets host basement side Kimberley Miners Welfare in the Premier Division North match at the Haydon Whitham Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

They go into the crunch game buoyed by two signings to strengthen their squad for the run-in until the end of the season.

Attacker Elliot Foster has returned to the Clarets after spell with Premier Division rivals Wisbech Town.

Boss Brett Whaley said: "Elliot is well known to most people at the club.

"I'm really pleased to bring him back. He's got a decent goalscoring record and plays in a variety of attacking positions that will be a boost to the squad. He's another young talent and a local lad."

Rangers have also added to their attacking artillery by signing Oleksandr Muzychuk from Premier Division South side Yaxley.

The Ukrainian started his career in the Moldovan National Division with Nistru Otaci before returning to his homeland to play for Zbruch Volochysk.

After a season in Ukraine, he returned to the Moldovan top-tier league to play with Costuleni ahead of a spell in the Canada with Ukraine United.

He then went back to the Ukraine where he played professionally for Podillya Khmelnytskyi and Kolos Kovalivka.

The 30-year-old has played in the regional German level with SV Fortuna Trebendorf.

Whaley added: "Olek played a high standard of football in Ukraine before joining Yaxley this season.

"He can play anywhere down the left hand side and will bring plenty of energy to the team.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can achieve with the club."

The Clarets are currently outside the danger zone on goal difference and nine points clear of Saturday's struggling visitors.

Deeping's home match last weekend with Boston Town was among a number of games postponed due to frozen pitches along with Bourne Town's trip to Lincoln United.

Bourne get back on the FA Vase trail on Saturday as they travel to Sutton United for their fourth round clash.

Their Sutton Coldfield-based hosts play in Division One of the Midland League and are currently in ninth spot after a 3-2 away loss at Kirby Muxloe on Saturday.

Holbeach travel to Whitton United in the Thurlow Nunn League on Saturday after the postponement of their home game with Leiston Under 23s last weekend.

Pinchbeck - who have re-signed defender Archie Moyses - are without a league game on Saturday with their next match being a trip to FC Peterborough on January 18.
