Spalding United are set to be without Jack Roberts and Josh McCammon for their FA Cup tie at South Shields

Spalding United have suffered a double injury setback ahead of Saturday's massive FA Cup tie.

The Tulips are expected to be without midfielder Josh McCammon and attacker Jack Roberts for their fourth qualifying round trip to South Shields.

The duo were both injured in last weekend's win over Dagenham and Redbridge.

They missed the FA Trophy win at Rushall Olympic on Saturday and are expected to be on the sidelines for a couple of weeks.

Manager Jimmy Dean brought in Maniche Sano-Sani to replace McCammon at the weekend and he netted both of the goals in the 2-0 win.

The Tulips boss said: "It's not just about the FA Cup game but we've got some big league games coming up after that.

"They have both been big players for us this season and we'll miss them.

"It is disappointing but it gives others a chance and Mani's come in for Macca on Saturday and he's got two great goals.

"He was my man of the match and had a really outstanding output.

"We've got to focus on the controllable now and be ready to go into a big week."

South Shields maintained their unbeaten start to the National League North season on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Chorley.

They have now won eight and drawn two of their 10 league games so far this term and are three points clear at the top of the standings.

Dean added: "We'll try and make a plan this week to go there and give us a chance.

"The club couldn't have done any more. They've got us a coach to go up there and an overnight stay.

"It's a real challenge but we will give it absolutely everything.

"The stakes are high but we've got good players here and, if we get beat, it won't be for the lack of trying."
