Spalding United have friendlies against Peterborough United and Rotherham
Manager Elliot Sandy feels a stellar set of pre-season friendlies has highlighted the progress of Spalding United.
The Tulips have landed two home games against Football League opposition as part of their plans for the new campaign.
They will also host National League neighbours Boston United in an attractive set of fixtures at the Sir Halley Stewart ground.
Sandy said: "I am proud of a really strong pre-season line up.
"It shows the progress that the club is making on and off the pitch and getting the attention of some of the big boys."
Spalding will start their friendlies on Saturday, July 13, when they welcome a Boston United side who secured promotion after winning the National League North play-offs last season.
That's followed by a home clash with League One neighbours Peterborough United on Tuesday, July 16.
Ex-Posh boss Steve Evans will then be bringing a Rotherham United side to play the Tulips on Saturday, July 20.
The League One side are close to finalising another fixture on the same weekend with the Millers' first team squad set to be split across the two games.
The Tulips will then travel to face Sandy's former club Corby Town on Tuesday, July 23, before a Lincolnshire Senior Cup clash at Grantham Town on Saturday, July 27.
A home match with Northern Premier League side Macclesfield - who are owned by former Wales international Robbie Savage - takes place on Tuesday, July 30.
Pre-season is then completed with a trip to last season's Northern Premier League Midlands Division rivals Quorn on Saturday, August 3.
Spalding have also continued to add new players to their ranks for the forthcoming Southern League Premier Division Central campaign.
The Tulips have paid an undisclosed fee to sign Luke Johnson from Isthmian League North Division side Gorleston.
Johnson netted 15 times for the Greens last season with the attacker having also played for King's Lynn and Dereham.
