Spalding Rugby Club get ready for their new season
Fitness and contact training is underway at Spalding Rugby Club as preparations intensify for the new season.
Training sessions are being held every Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm at the Centenary Park ground.
The Elephants have their first friendly match on Saturday when take on St Neots in a match that gets underway at 2.15pm.
The first competitive fixtures are planned for Saturday, September 7, with the first team travelling to Vipers in Counties 1 Midlands East (South).
The second team start their Counties 3 Midlands East (Central) adventure at home against Southwell 2nds on the same day while the thirds play Kesteven 2nds in a Lincs Merit table fixture.
Club chairman John Constable commented: "We have had encouraging numbers at training and, as rugby continues its recovery after Covid, we have entered the seconds into the league for the first time in our history and also the thirds will play Merit table fixtures this season."
Mini rugby for Under 6s to Under 12s starts on Sunday, September 1, and juniors from Under 13s to colts a week later on September 8.
