Peterborough and District Football League round-up




Three goals in 15 first half minutes helped fire Moulton Harrox into the quarter-finals of the Peterborough Senior Cup on Saturday.

Joe Townsend, Dec Earth and Ash Coddington were on target in a 3-1 away success over Deeping Rangers Reserves who replied through James Russell.

Moulton will now face local rivals Crowland Town in the last eight where Holbeach United Reserves have a home tie with Wittering Premiair.

Both Crowland and the Tigers' second string were home winners in their Premier Division matches at the weekend.

Crowland recorded a fifth successive victory in all competitions after a 4-1 home success over Ramsey Town.

Harry Tidswell scored twice with Billy Gibbs and Adam Blackbird scoring the other goals.

Holbeach had a 3-1 home win over Sawtry with Warren Hebblethwaite, McKenzie Lee and Ashton Shirley scoring for the Tigers.

Deeping United went down to a 5-0 away loss at Leverington in their top flight match.

Long Sutton secured their second win of the Division One season after a 5-2 home victory against Stilton United at London Road.

Jack Greenacre netted twice for the Magpies with Jack Baker, Lewis Horne and Jamal Nyang their other marksmen.

An early goal from Jamie Steward earned Whaplode Drove Rovers a 1-0 home victory over Glinton & Northborough.

Sutton Bridge remain top of Division Two after a 5-1 home win over Crowland Reserves.

Ben Partridge (two) and Jack Thomas were among the goals for the leaders with Nathan Woodward netting for Crowland.

Tydd were 4-0 home winners over Stamford Bels Reserves thanks to goals from Kai Scott-Henson (two), Brandon Harker and Dan Cassidy.

South Lincs Swifts were handed a walkover win against Elsea Park Eagles after the Bourne-based side were unable to field a team to face the Division Three table-toppers.

Long Sutton Reserves were beaten 7-0 by second-placed Stamford AFC Reserves while Moulton Harrox Reserves were emphatic 8-0 home winners against Whaplode Drove Rovers Reserves.

Freddy Parker hit a hat-trick for Harrox with Louis Armstrong and Martin Sandall both scoring twice while Daniel Beresford was also on target.

Holbeach United Youth were beaten 3-0 at home by Sleaford Town Reserves in Division One of the Lincolnshire League.

They have been drawn away at Fulbeck United in the second round of the Lincolnshire Junior Cup while Holbeach Reserves will entertain Wyberton .

Moulton Harrox host Scotter United while Pinchbeck Development face a trip to Briggensians.

Deeping Rangers Reserves visit holders Crowle Colts while Deeping United entertain Lincoln United Development with Crowland travelling to face AFC Colsterworth.

Long Sutton and Tydd both have home draws against New Holland Villa and Grimoldby respectively. The ties take place on Saturday, October 26.
