Pinchbeck United beat Wivenhoe Town in the Thurlow Nunn League
A second half brace from Krisztian Gagyi secured victory for Pinchbeck United in their Thurlow Nunn League clash at Wivenhoe Town on Saturday.
Gagyi's goal double ensured a second successive away win for the Knights after they had taken one point from their last two home games.
It sets Pinchbeck up for a crucial run of league clashes as they face Framlingham, Gorleston Reserves, Holland and Stanway Pegasus in their next four Division One North games.
Boss Lewis Thorogood said: "We've got some big fish to fry in terms of league games coming up.
"We've got some stiff tests in a run of games against sides in and around that play-off region.
"We need to be targeting points against teams like that if we want to be up and around there."
After a goalless first half, Pinchbeck raised their game in the second period to run out worthy winners.
Josh Balding had seen a perfectly-timed volley go inches over the home crossbar before Pinchbeck broke the deadlock.
Gagyi's pace had caused the Dragons' defence problems and he latched onto a through ball before slipping his finish past the home goalkeeper.
He then turned home a cross on the half-volley to seal the success as Pinchbeck withstood some late Wivenhoe pressure to return home with the points.
Thorogood added: "We were ok in the first half but struggled to really get going or get the ball moving.
"We had a little bit more purpose, quality and pace about us in the second half and started to create chances.
"We got the job done with a good clean sheet for a good three points."
Pinchbeck are in Lincolnshire Senior Trophy action on Tuesday night when they welcome Bourne Town to the Sir Halley Stewart ground.
