The Crowson Volkswagen Pinchbeck and District Winter Darts League stages its finals night
The finals night of the Crowson Volkswagen Pinchbeck and District Winter Darts League marked the end of the season at the Services Club in Spalding.
The action got underway with the H&D Cup final between Division B champions Consti Club Z and the Drayman's Arms A.
In a close game, the Consti side were leading 2-1 after the pairs and, with singles wins for Calum Ward, Brandon Elderkin, Dan Merrill and Mick Atkin, they ran out 6-3 winners.
This was followed by the Fours final which was an all Lincoln Arms A affair.
The AB side of Jimmy Tennyson, Harry Walsh, Dean Murray and Steve Stancer were triumphant against the AA team of Sam Roberts, John Charlton, Steve Gaughan and Paul Blow after winning 3-0.
The Division A singles semi-finals saw Craig Norbury (Services Club B) and Scott Williams (Green Dragon A) both winning 2-0 against Josh Ford (Royal Mail Cart) and Kev Newton (Drayman's Arms B) respectively.
Division B saw Callum Day (Green Dragon Z) go through with a bye while Mark Ledger (Kirton Leisure) beat John Robinson (Consti Club D) 2-0.
The Division B Pairs semi-finals saw Mark Jones and Callum O’Driscoll (Services Club A) beat Harvey Elderkin (Pinchbeck FC B) 2-1.
It was a valiant effort from young Harvey who had to play on his own due to his partner being unable to attend on the night.
The second semi-final featured an all Green Dragon Z affair with Dean Peacock and Finn Mottram taking the honours 2-0 against Brendon Clark and Callum Day.
The Division A semi-finals saw both Lincoln Arms pairs of Steve Stancer and Sam Roberts and Paul Blow and Jimmy Tennyson going through to the final with both pairs winning 2-0 against Craig Norbury and Dave Norbury (Services Club B) and Jason Chilvers and Stu Page (Royal Mail Cart) respectively.
The Knockout Cup final saw the Lincoln Arms A take on the Services Club B.
After racing into a 3-0 lead with pairs wins for Steve Stancer and Dean Murray, it was enough for the Lincoln side to take the win to add the cup to their league title.
The first individual contest of the night should have been the ladies final between Stacey Banister (Lincoln Arms D) and Casey Hill (Lincoln Arms A).
Unfortunately both players were unable to attend so this will be played at a later date.
The Captain's Cup final saw a close game with Dan Gent (Lincoln Arms D) coming out victorious with a 2-1 win against Steve Stancer (Lincoln Arms A).
The Mixed Pairs final followed which saw Tony Spinks and Eva Spinks (Lincoln Arms D) take on Paul Blow and Kayleigh Blow (Lincoln Arms A).
The father and daughter duo of Paul and Kayleigh won 2-1.
Following this was the Division B Pairs final with Dean Peacock and Finn Mottram (Green Dragon Z) securing the title with a 2-0 win over Mark Jones and Callum O’Driscoll (Services Club A).
The Division A final was another all Lincoln Arms A affair with Steve Stancer and Sam Roberts beating team-mates Paul Blow and Jimmy Tennyson 2-0 to lift the trophy.
The Division B singles final saw Callum Day (Green Dragon Z) competing with Mark Ledger (Kirton Leisure) for the honours.
Ledger came out on top with a 2-0 victory.
The prestigious Division A singles final saw Craig Norbury (Services Club B) taking on former World Championship semi-finalist Scott Williams (Green Dragon A).
Williams was too powerful for Norbury and took an emphatic 3-0 win.
The league would like to thank Ian Tilley for his help during the season and again for being MC on the evening as well as Di Langston for taking the photographs.
Thanks also to the Services Club and their staff for their hospitality and for hosting the event and to both the Spalding Guardian and Spalding Voice for the reports and results every week during the season.
