South Lincs and Border League round-up
A fifth successive victory maintained Moulton Harrox's 100 percent start to the new South Lincs and Border League season on Saturday.
The early pacesetters beat Skegness by 135 runs at Broad Lane to continue their perfect opening to the Championship campaign.
They made a healthy 239-7 after batting first with captain Matt Rose top-scoring with 74 while Flynn McMillan made a half-century.
Opener Jamie Juckes also added 35 before Skegness were skittled out for 104 in reply as the home bowling attack shared out the wickets.
Rose, Robbie Townsend, McMillan and Harry Shersby all took two each with Uddyan Hansana and Curtis Todd adding one apiece.
Long Sutton came close to securing their first win of the season after a one-wicket defeat against Newborough.
They made 171-6 after being put into bat with Dom Clay scoring an excellent 62 not out while Dan Oldfield made a half-century.
Newborough looked well on course for victory after recovering from 58-4 to reach 147-6 before new Long Sutton skipper Josh Baker struck three times in the same over.
Baker finished with 5-39 from his nine-over spell but Newborough edged to victory and remain Moulton's closest challengers at the top.
Bourne 2nds went down by three wickets at Woodhall Spa after being bowled out for 183.
Opener Ben Woodward blasted a quick-fire 67 which featured 11 fours and a six while Courtney Kruger fell two runs short of his half-century.
Peter Jackson took 7-20 for Woodhall who passed their target with four balls to spare despite Woodward and Joe Watson bagging a brace each for Bourne.
Long Sutton 2nds produced an excellent run chase to defeat Market Deeping by six wickets in Division One.
The Outgang Road side had made 253-6 after batting first with Ross Barnes hitting an unbeaten 113 not out for Deeping.
Charith Harshana took three wickets for Long Sutton and then made 46 as opener Aron John led their bid for victory.
John hit 13 fours and two sixes in his 83 while Thilani Dilshan also added 67 as Sutton passed their target with 10 overs to spare.
Billingborough made it three wins from four outings after a 62-run success over Burghley Park 2nds.
James Zealand continued his fine form by top scoring with 52 while Dylan Garfoot (36) and Rob Arnold (33) helped the hosts to 227-7.
Burghley were bowled out for 165 in reply as Aaron Green grabbed 3-25 from seven overs while Jacob Light and Arnold both struck twice each.
