The annual Adam Jackson memorial match is being held at Holbeach United Football Club
Organisers of a now annual match to remember a popular footballer want to create a 'sea of colour' at this year's event.
The Adam Jackson memorial match is taking place next month at Holbeach United's Carter's Park ground.
And the louder and brighter of the colour of the attire that everyone wears to the event on Sunday, August 18, is for the better, say the organisers.
Tim Cole - who is part of the five-strong organising team which also consists of Adam's dad Stephen, his brother, Luke, Danny Hussey and Sharla Slayven - wants the event to reflect the personality of the former Holbeach and Spalding player.
Tim said: "Jacko's never far away from anyone's thoughts.
"He was such a larger than life character and there are always so many reminders to show how missed he is and well remembered.
"We want everyone to wear loud and bright shirts on the day to reflect the unique clothing that he used to wear.
"We think that it reflects his personality and we want to have a sea of colour around the ground and in the bar afterwards."
Adam, a married father-of-two, tragically took his own life in March of last year and the event will raise money for the Samaritans.
More than £20,000 has been raised since his death from last year's memorial match and a GoFundMe page that was set up to support his young daughters, Myla and Ennis.
Sponsorship has already been secured for this year's match, matchball, medals/trophies, officials and bouncy castle.
Organisers are still looking for a sponsor for each of the teams and the band/singer who will provide entertainment.
Tim added: "We have had an amazing response so far and it shows how much everyone loved and respected him.
"We want as many people to come out to support us as possible on the day because it is all about remembering him.
"Hopefully the match will be good but we want everyone in the bar afterwards as well to meet up and chat about him and remember him while raising as much money as possible."
The two teams playing this year will be the successful Holbeach United Sunday side which Cole managed to Lincolnshire County Cup glory.
They will be taking on a team of Adam's friends and former team-mates called Ahoy FC - his trademark saying when walking into a room.
Tim added: "It is being held on a Sunday this year which is quite fitting because we used to call that team our Sunday family.
"We would always have a few drinks together after games, especially in the Lincolnshire Cup, so it's right to hold it on that day of the week."
The match will kick-off at 1pm with gates opening at noon.
