The curtain is brought down on the F2 Stock Car season at King’s Lynn
Spalding's Pat Issit was in the money in the F2 Stock Cars at King’s Lynn when he scooped the loot in the Dash for the Cash which brought the curtain down on the 2023 season.
The Dash for Cash saw drivers start three abreast for a clutch start race as opposed to the two abreast rolling start usually used.
Issit made a lightning start from the yellow grade and hit the front on the fourth lap after early leader Andy Steward crashed out.
Following that he had to withhold a lot of pressure from the chasing pack headed by Clitheroe’s Michael Lund and also had to deal with a mid race stoppage after Micky Brennan rolled over but Pat produced one of his best drivers yet to stay ahead and take the chequered flag and the big pay cheque.
Earlier in the night, Barry Clow had also tasted success when he took the chequered flag in the White and Yellow Championship.
He was followed home by Gavin Mason with Daniel Vaughan in fourth spot and Jason Clow in fifth seeing local drivers fill an astonishing four of the top 10 spots.
The meeting final itself was win by Hertfordshire’s Ben Chalkley with Vaughan being the top local finisher in seventh place.
It was not the best of nights for the Sargent racing team in the F1 stock cars with Mark being plagued with engine problems all night and Finn having an average night qualifying for the final with a sixth place finish in his heat before finishing the final in 12th.
