Pinchbeck United beat Holland in the Thurlow Nunn League
Pinchbeck produced their most convincing performance of the season to return to winning ways in the Thurlow Nunn League on Saturday.
The Knights recorded a 4-1 home success over Holland in the Division One North match at the Sir Halley Stewart ground.
JJ Ward bagged a brace with Taylor Jaine and Flynn Slater also on target as Pinchbeck bounced back from successive league losses against Framlingham, Parson Drove and Harwich & Parkeston.
Manager Lewis Thorogood said: "We had put in a really good performance at Harwich last weekend and this just carried it on.
"Even by Harwich's own admission, we had been worthy of getting something last weekend and the key for me was that I was looking for back-to-back good performances.
"We played really well on Saturday. We had lots of tempo and energy about us."
Pinchbeck came flying out of the traps and could have taken a first minute lead when Ward was thwarted by a fine save from the visiting goalkeeper who then excelled to keep out the follow-up.
The bright start was then rewarded in the sixth minute as Ward converted a cross from Jaine to put Pinchbeck in front.
The Knights maintained their dominance with Ward doubling the lead in the 17th minute with an excellent free-kick after Luke Cullen had been fouled.
A fine save from Pinchbeck goalkeeper Ben Martin then prevented Holland from cutting the deficit before the break.
The Knights were then sluggish after the interval and Holland cut the deficit through Kade Ivatt following a scramble in the box.
The goal kick-started Pinchbeck again though and they found their first half form to finish the match strongly.
Slater squandered a good chance with Ward and Harry Wallace also spurning decent opportunities for the home side.
Jaine then fired home a fine finish to make it 3-1 before the win was wrapped up with five minutes remaining as Josh Panton and Avi Vieira linked well to find Jaine whose pass was slotted home by Slater.
Thorogood added: "It was a good performance and probably our first real convincing win of the season since the Whittlesey game.
"We've broken the back of that three-match losing streak which we obviously didn't want but we fell short in a couple of areas in those fixtures.
"We've just got to take it game-by-game at the moment and try to work our way up the league by picking off a team at a time up the ladder."
The Knights handed a debut on Saturday to new signing Josh Baldwin following his arrival on dual registration from Wisbech Town.
