Pinchbeck United face Bourne Town in the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy

Pinchbeck United and Bourne Town will try again tonight (Tuesday) to settle their Lincolnshire Senior Trophy tie.

The quarter-final clash between the two sides has been rearranged for this evening at the Sir Halley Stewart ground (7.45pm) following last Tuesday's postponement.

A home semi-final tie with Blackstones awaits the winners as Pinchbeck target a second successive higher level scalp.

They knocked out Deeping Rangers in the last round and manager Lewis Thorogood feels his side will again be underdogs against an in-form Wakes.

He said: "I want us to pitch ourselves against stronger and better teams to see where the squad is at.

"It's nights like this that you what, both financially and in terms of exposure.

"We're all looking forward to it and it should be a decent game and I think both teams will be up for it.

"There is maybe a little bit more pressure on them than us because they have an expectation that they should win.

"I appreciate, like everything, that they have their priorities as well so we'll just see where it takes us."

Pinchbeck have had the Wakes watched a couple of times this month as they bid to cause a cup upset.

Thorogood added: "I know their players very well in the main and their shape and style of play. I know what they try to do and how they operate.

"We've had them watched over the last couple of games so we're aware of their threats.

"Irrespective of who they put into their squad, they've got quality throughout and we've got to ensure that we turn up and put on a performance.

"It's completely irrelevant what we do or don't do if we don't turn up and perform in our own way.

"It's down to us and, if we're up and at it like we were against Deeping in the last round, we can take on anybody."

Pinchbeck go into the cup clash after a 2-0 away defeat at Framlingham in the Thurlow Nunn League Division One North on Saturday.

The Castlemen broke the deadlock from the penalty spot when Josh Lucraft converted past debutant Knights goalkeeper Toby Arkle.

A superb save from home custodian Joe Potter prevented Pinchbeck from getting back onto level terms as the Knights piled on the pressure in search of an equaliser.

Framlingham then broke in the latter stages and a deflected effort from substitute Kian Wilson put the game beyond Pinchbeck who are now 12th in the 20-team division.

Bourne have maintained their grip on third spot in the United Counties League Premier Division North despite Saturday's match at Belper United being postponed.

The county cup is one of three competitions that the Wakes are still involved with as they remain in the FA Vase and League KO Cup.
