Spalding United manager Elliot Sandy agrees a new two-year deal with the Tulips

Title-winning manager Elliot Sandy has agreed to extend his stay with Spalding United.

Sandy led the Tulips to the Northern Premier League Midlands Division title at the weekend in his first full season of management.

He has now pledged his future to the club for the next two years - much to the delight of chairman Andrew Killingsworth.

He said: "Elliot showed this season that he is a young and talented manager and we are delighted that he has committed to the club again.

"We look forward to backing him again in the quest for further success."

Sandy had initially joined the Tulips at the start of the 2022/23 season in a playing capacity before taking over the reins following the departure of Brett Whaley.

He steered Spalding to a third place finish before they suffered heartbreak in the last minute of extra-time in the play-off final when they lost to Halesowen Town.

This season, Sandy has led the Tulips to a second successive Lincolnshire Senior Cup final appearance before clinching promotion at the weekend to step three of the non-league pyramid for the first time in the club's history.

Sandy said: "I am absolutely delighted to sign a two-year contract with the club.

"We are building something special and I'm delighted to be a part of it. Hopefully there is more success to come and the hard work starts now."
