Spalding United beat Rushall Olympic in the FA Trophy
Maniche Sano-Sani struck twice as Spalding United booked their place in the next round of the FA Trophy on Saturday.
The Guinea-Bissau-born attacker netted both of the goals in the Tulips' 2-0 away success at Rushall Olympic.
It was a third successive victory in all competitions for Jimmy Dean's side who made six changes from their FA Cup victory over Dagenham and Redbridge last weekend.
The Spalding boss said: "If you'd offered me a 2-0 win on the way here then I would have snapped your hand off.
"It's always a difficult place to come and when you make six changes it can sometimes knock you.
"We were efficient without being vintage Spalding United.
"We had a lot of good chances and probably should have put the game to bed before we did."
Sano-Sani had come into the starting line-up alongside goalkeeper James Dadge, full-back Ben Hart, midfielders Curtis Thompson plus attackers James Clifton and Jordan Nicholson.
Paul Jones, Bart Cybulski, Alfie Bendle and Dion Semble-Ferris were on the substitutes' bench while both Jack Roberts and Josh McCammon were missing through injury.
Dadge made a good early stop to deny Toumani before Sani scored the opening goal with a fine strike from outside the area.
It was enough to give Spalding the lead at the break with a brilliant save from Rushall goalkeeper Dan Jezeph preventing a second goal for the visitors early in the second half.
Sano-Sani then doubled Spalding's advantage as he looped his finish over Jezeph to send the Tulips through to the first round proper.
Dean added: "We adjusted tactically and started really brightly.
"Rushall had made a great start to the season and, although they've fallen off a bit, they've got a great manager and play the right way.
"This might not be the cup which everyone focuses on, but if you get two or three wins in it, then it starts to get exciting.
"There's some big clubs coming into it and sometimes, depending on what they're doing in their league, they might play a weakened side so there is further opportunity down the road but we've got to get there first."
