South Lincs and Border League Cricket round-up
Moulton Harrox were celebrating a second successive victory double on Saturday to continue their fine start to the South Lincs and Border League season.
The first team were 117-run winners in their Championship clash with Billingborough while the meeting of the two club's second strings saw Moulton win by five wickets in their Division Two tussle.
Opener Blake Wolstenholme was again in fine form for the first team as he followed up his 75 runs from last week by again setting the tone as he blasted 41 runs from just 25 balls before being bowled by Donnel Sylvester.
Home debutant Robbie Townsend then top-scored with 48 while Matt Rose added 43 as Harrow closed their 45 overs on 219-5.
Rose then led the Moulton bowling attack with a stunning spell of 4-12 from nine overs which featured four maidens.
Lee Eyett provided solid support with 3-9 while the final three wickets were spread between Flynn McMillan, Harry Lovell and Travis Harrison as Billingborough were dismissed for 102 with Dylan Garfoot making 21 for the visitors.
A superb display from Anish Suwarneraj helped lead the second team to victory in their match at Billingborough.
He took 6-28 while youngster Zak Maddison showed excellent control and maturity to finish with 4-17 as Billingborough were bowled out for 48.
Debutant Harry Shersby also shone with an excellent three overs, all of which were maidens, after also taking a great catch.
Harry Lamb had top-scored with 14 for Billingborough and he then kept the pressure on the Moulton batting line-up with an excellent spell of 5-16.
However, Ruari Drumm steadied Moulton with an unbeaten 21 not out as they triumphed with five wickets to spare.
Bourne 2nds started their Championship campaign with a 98-run away win at Freiston.
Kurt Storey struck 69 while Adam Binns added 46 and Ben Warner made 34 as Bourne were bowled out for 177 by their hosts.
Four wicket hauls from Tom Patchett and Ben Woodward then helped dismiss Freiston for 79 as they took 4-24 and 4-10 respectively. Drew Kirtland-Blundell also chipped in with 2-24.
Spalding 2nds went down to a narrow seven-run defeat against Ancaster in their Division One match.
Josh Lawrence and John Healy had both taken two wickets each as Ancaster made 194-4 from their 45 overs.
Will Gardner top-scored in the Spalding reply with 54 while Michael Kearns made 31 and Ethan Lawrence hit 30 as they finished just short on 187-7.
The experience of Lee Peacock and Dave Gillett guided Market Deeping 2nds to a 44-run win against Ketton Sports.
Peacock made 64 while Gillett was unbeaten on 58 at the close after Deeping posted 219-8 from their 45 overs.
Nick Andrews also added a vital 25 not out and he then took 2-37 as Ketton Sports were restricted to 175-8 in reply.
Amandeep Dhindsa and Shabaz Mohammed also took two wickets each for the victorious Deeping team.
Baston lost by two wickets in a tight Division Two tussle with Burghley Park 2nds.
The villagers were bowled out for 178 after batting first with Dave Greenfield (46), Andy Burrill (37) and Anthony Morris (33) their top scorers.
Ahsan Azhar took 4-31 while James Biggs claimed 3-25 for Burghley who needed late cameo from Andy Briault to secure their success in the 42nd over.
Briault blasted nine boundaries in an unbeaten 60 after Lewis Banthorpe had made 63 in the duo's 103-run stand for the eighth wicket against some disciplined Baston bowling from Jules McAlpine and Burrill who finished with 4-13 and 4-44 respectively.
