Peterborough and District Football League round-up




An eight-goal haul brought a seventh successive Peterborough League victory for South Lincs Swifts on Saturday.

The unbeaten Monks House Playing Field side recorded an 8-0 home success over Park Farm Pumas A in their Division Three clash.

Dawid Gos, Nicky Haw and Will Smith all scored twice for the table-toppers with Kieron McConnell and Ben Mansour also on target.

Whaplode Drove Reserves are at the other end of the Division Three table after losing 7-0 at Stanground Sports Cardea's second string.

Long Sutton Reserves lost 4-0 at home to Elsea Park Eagles with Ryan Mills (two), George Edney and Michael Worthington scoring for the Bourne side.

Goals from James Russell and a Charlie Coulson cracker earned Deeping Rangers Reserves a 2-1 home win over FC Peterborough Reserves in the Premier Division.

Archie Rickards hit a hat-trick for Crowland as they made it back-to-back wins over Oakham United with a 3-2 success in the top flight.

Moulton Harrox played out a 1-1 draw with leaders Warboys Town as Nathan Smith scored their goal.

Brad Appleby bagged a brace of goals as Holbeach United Reserves shared the spoils with Stanground Sports Cardea at Carter's Park while Deeping United suffered a heavy 6-0 away defeat at Uppingham Town.

Long Sutton were on the wrong end of an 8-1 away loss at Hampton United in Division One with Jordan Nyang netting their goal.

Sutton Bridge are setting the pace in Division One after a 5-1 home win over Oakham United Reserves.

Chris Down netted twice as Crowland Reserves were 4-1 home winners over Park Farm Pumas Reserves with Callum Parker and Martynas Vaiciulis also netting.

Moulton Chapel are still seeking their first points of the Division Four season after losing 6-0 at home to Glinton and Northborough Reserves.

Five different goalscorers were on target for Whaplode Drove in their 5-0 away win at YDP in the second round of the Peterborough Challenge Cup.

William Knight, Adam Richardson, Harley Williams - who was later sent off - Jamie Steward and Harrison Pearce scored for Rovers.

Bourne Town Reserves also progressed after a second successive victory over Peterborough Polonia.

They followed up last week's 6-1 league win with a 5-1 cup success as Ryan Baxter hit a hat-trick with Nathan Bills and Callum Beveridge also scoring.

Tydd Reserves defied two sendings off to beat Stamford Lions on penalties after the match had finished 4-4.

Jordi Henson - who was one of the players to be dismissed - scored for Tydd along with Daniel Cassidy, Tim Magnus and Kai Scott-Henson.

Substitute Nick Ainslie was also red-carded for Tydd who won 4-2 on penalties.

Moulton Harrox Reserves went out of the Peterborough Junior Cup after losing their second round clash at Sawtry on penalties.

They were beaten 3-1 on spot kicks after the match had finished 1-1 with Martin Sandall scoring Moulton's goal.

Pinchbeck United Development shared the spoils in a goalless away draw at Pointon in the Boston League Premier Division.

Two goals from Alan Baxter helped Holbeach Bank book their place in the next round of the Challenge Cup after a 2-1 home win over Friskney.

Holbeach United Youth picked up their first win in Division One of the Lincolnshire League after goals from Tyriece Buffong and Riley Thompson-Fitch secured a 2-1 away success at Brigg Town Community.
