Holbeach United are beaten by Wivenhoe Town in the Thurlow Nunn League
Holbeach United fell to their sixth home league defeat of the season after a 3-2 reversal against Wivenhoe Town at Carter's Park on Saturday.
While the Tigers have a 100 percent away record after five victories in the Thurlow Nunn League Division One North, they have won just once on home soil this season.
They were 2-0 winners at Wivenhoe in August but were unable to complete the league double despite a flying start to Saturday's match.
A back post header from Kyle Compton gave them a fourth minute lead which was cancelled out midway through the first half when Mitch Goddard equalised for the visitors.
The score remained level going into half-time before a flurry of goals arrived shortly after the restart.
Harry Miller volleyed the Dragons in front with the first attack of the second half but Holbeach quickly equalised when Ryan Cook latched onto a ball on top before slotting his finish home.
Wivenhoe had regained the lead again within two minutes though as Gabe Kerr rounded goalkeeper Josh Simpson before tapping home.
The visitors lost Miller for a 10-minute sin-binning for dissent but Holbeach were unable to make their one-man advantage and, upon their goalscorer's return, Wivenhoe were able to see the game out for their second away win of the season.
The defeat leaves Holbeach in ninth place ahead of a trip to table-topping Haverhill Rovers this weekend.
