The annual Jonny Britton memorial match is held at Holbeach Bank Football Club

Despite the unsettled weather, a decent crowd watched the annual Jonny Britton memorial game at Holbeach Bank on Saturday.

The match was played between Jonny's old team-mates and a Gedney Drove End select side.

The Drove End team took the game very seriously and ran out 5-3 winners, despite a Steve Barker hat-trick for the Jonny Britton team.

Organisers would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended, brought raffle prizes and tickets.

Sincere thanks were also extended to Mossop & Bowser Solicitors for sponsoring the barbecue, MJS Projects (March) Ltd and Bryan Thompson Windows for their financial support and Tesco and Darci's sandwich bar for their raffle prizes and of course the Spalding Guardian/Lincs Online for their press coverage.

At the time of writing more than £1,500 has been raised which will be split between St Barnabas and Holbeach Hospital.

The match is played each year in memory of Jonny who died in 2012, aged 35, due to spinal cancer.
