Holbeach United beat Swaffham Town in the Thurlow Nunn League

Holbeach United roared to their biggest win of the Thurlow Nunn League season with an emphatic victory at Carter's Park on Saturday.

The Tigers were 8-0 winners over bottom of the table Swaffham Town to record a third successive win in Division One North.

It moved sixth-placed Holbeach to within two points of the play-off spots as they pummeled the Pedlars with a strong second half display.

They took a 12th minute lead following a dominant start when Callum Wright netted the opening goal for the second successive game.

The Tigers' constant pressure was then rewarded with a second goal midway through the first half with Pat Kacirek scoring from a close range.

It gave Holbeach a comfortable cushion at the interval before they took the game completely away from Swaffham after the break.

They added a third three minutes after the restart when Sam Carter's corner was turned into his own net by a Swaffham defender.

A fourth goal followed two minutes later when Ben Greenacre fired home before Harvey Thorne added the fifth with a strike from the edge of the penalty area.

Wright headed home his second and Holbeach's sixth just past the hour mark before completing his first senior hat-trick five minutes later.

The scoring was then wrapped up with 20 minutes remaining when Greenacre grabbed his second of the game with a fine strike from outside the area.

After back-to-back home wins, Holbeach now face a tough trip to second-placed Stanway Pegasus at the weekend.
