Charlie Tomblin misses out on glory in the F2 Stock Car World of Shale at King's Lynn

Charlie Tomblin was left in tatters after a great drive ended in despair in the F2 Stock Car World of Shale at King's Lynn on Saturday night.

Tomblin led the race for 20 of the 25 laps before a killer move from eventual winner Charlie Guinchard left the South Lincolnshire driver in a dead car and unable to finish the race.

More indignation was to come in the consolation when he also failed to finish after crashing out with Jack Witts but he did bounce back with a second place finish in the Dash for Cash.

Pat Issit had a good race in the World of Shale and just missed out on a rostrum finish after coming home in fourth.

Finn Sargent had a big knock in the F1 final which ended his day early – he thankfully exited his car ok though.

One of the biggest meetings of the season takes place at King's Lynn this Saturday (5pm) with the annual Halloween Carnival night.

It features the Unlimited Bangers who will be racing in the Supernatural Championship – a race for hearses and limousines - while the 1300 Stock Cars will be contesting the World of Shale and Reliant Robins.

This is a great family oriented event and also includes a gigantic fireworks display and a Halloween fancy dress parade for all children.

This is also the final meeting of the season proper with no more racing at King's Lynn until December.

This meeting has been a sellout for the past few seasons and is advance ticket only.

Tickets are expected to sell out by today (Thursday) or tomorrow (Friday) at the latest and are only available from the Trackstar website at www.stockcar-racing.co.uk

Local drivers are in action in both the Unlimited Bangers and the 1300 Stock Cars.

The always entertaining Will Cole is back in action and, after qualifying for his first World of Shale Championship last month, he will be keen to start racking some points up again

With the Halloween meeting being the first qualifier for the 2025 Unlimited Banger World of Shale, he will be out to entertain. The always rapid Lewis Ivatt is also booked in for action.

It is a big night for the 1300 Stock Cars with the World of Shale title up for grabs.

There are two local drivers on the grid with Joe Bamford in action fresh from taking his first victory in the formula a few weeks ago.

Reece Crane is also on the grid and he will be hoping for a change of luck on Saturday after having little to show for some great drives so far this season.
