Spalding United will have an Under 18 midweek team for the new season

Spalding United have added another team to their ever-expanding roster for the coming campaign.

The Tulips have launched a new Under 18 midweek team which will be managed by head coach Dylan Phillips.

He will be supported by Danny Willcock (assistant coach), Liam McGowan (assistant coach) and David Shafe (assistant coach) with the new team eager to get the ball rolling.

Phillips commented: "The whole coaching team can't wait to get started with the new Under 18 Spalding side.

The energy, talent and hunger in this group of players is great to see.

"We can't wait to be part of the journey alongside the seniors and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making this happen.

"It would be amazing to see the Spalding community as a whole take the time to come and see the team play next season."

The introduction of the youth team follows last week's formation of a new ladies' side.

It will be the first time that the Tulips have been represented at women's level for a number of years.

The Tulips recently announced a £1 million investment in transforming their stadium, including work to the dressing rooms and laying an artificial pitch.
