Victories for Bourne Town and Holbeach United on Boxing Day




Bourne Town moved to within a point of top spot in the United Counties League Premier Division North with a 13th successive victory on Boxing Day.

The Wakes were 3-0 home winners over Harrowby United to close the gap on table-topping Eastwood CFC who play on Saturday at Melton Town,

Tom Siddons struck twice in eight first half minutes to give Bourne control of the contest before Zak Munton wrapped up the win just before half-time.

Deeping Rangers remain in the bottom two after a 1-1 draw home with Wisbech Town.

Ex-Clarets striker Rob Conyard had given Wisbech a first half advantage which was cancelled out five minutes later by Matt Sparrow equaliser.

Both sides finished the game with 10 men as Josh Moreman saw red for Deeping with Ethan Wilson being dismissed for the visitors.

Holbeach United with 4-0 away winners in the Thurlow Nunn League Division One North derby at Pinchbeck.

Marley Hamilton gave Holbeach a first half lead which was extended after the break by goals from Sam Carter, Kyle Compton and George Frost.
