A month's worth of roadworks to start

A month's worth of roadworks have started in Market Deeping.

Worn out sections of carriageway between Church Street and Horsegate Farm Close are to be replaced, with work having begun on Thursday, May 17.

The improvements will be taking place between 6pm and midnight each evening, including weekends, and are expected to be completed on Tuesday 12 June.

During the works, the affected sections of the road will be closed, with traffic diverted via the B1525, A1175, A15 and B1525. Access will be maintained for residents and local businesses only.

Whilst works will be complete by midnight each night, the road closures will remain in place until later to allow sufficient time for the newly laid surface to cool before allowing traffic to use it. The road will be open in time for the early morning commuter traffic each day.

Some temporary parking restrictions will be also be in force while the project is carried out.

Steve Brooks, senior project leader, said: "These sections of road have reached the end of their serviceable life.

"This work will ensure they remain fit for purpose for many years.

"We intend to do everything we can to minimise disruption, including carrying out the works overnight to lessen the impact on the traveling public.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and ask for your patience while we make these much-need improvements."
