Anguish over fly tipping at Deeping Lakes

Fly tippers have been illegally dumping rubbish at a much-loved beauty spot.

A freezer full of rubbish and a pile of household waste was dumped at Deeping Lakes Nature Reserve off Station Road in Deeping St James.

It was discovered on Thursday (September 19) morning.

Dave Vandome, nature reserve manager, said: “It first came to my attention on Thursday morning but I guess it must have been left sometime on Wednesday evening going into early Thursday morning.

“I found out about it on a phone call.

“It’s very depressing really and horrible.

“The freezer is jam-packed with rubbish so trying to move that will be difficult.”
