The Empingham Garden Club Annual Show was a bit different this year.

The Grow It, Cook It, Make It Show had a new venue - The Methodist Chapel - a new date and it also had a wacky theme.

To encourage more people to take part some fun new classes were added.

Along with the usual ‘Best home grown’ onions there was also a class for ‘Best dressed onion’.

This attracted an onion sporting tennis gear on a Wimbledon court.

An onion, a bit worse for wear, holding a bottle of beer titled ‘Pickled Onion’ and other onion couture.

In the fruit and vegetables section there was a knitted fruit or vegetable class which attracted some amazing knitted edibles including peas in pods and a banana in a zip up skin!

It wasn’t all fun though as some serious competition was in evidence with the hall packed full of perfect produce, heavenly home cooked delights, crafts and photographs.
