Bourne Preservation Society and Bourne Civic Society have merged
Bourne Preservation Society has merged with Bourne Civic Society, and the two charitable organisations have become one.
Bourne Preservation Society has dissolved and transfered its assets to the civic society, following approval at the preservation society’s AGM last month.
The merger combines the strengths of the two bodies, so that all activities of both, including the museum, exhibition and events at the Heritage Centre at Baldock Mill, the public and member meetings, and the surveys of the conservation area and casework on local planning applicationsformerly done by the preservation society, will continue under the umbrella of the strengthened organisation.
Bourne Preservation Trust, the registered charitable company that was set up by the society to be the vehicle for its building preservation projects, will continue in existence in that role unchanged.
