Discover Rutland launches business support programme using Government’s Shared Prosperity Funding

Free business support will bolster a county’s hospitality businesses.

Discover Rutland has launched a programme of training events to support hospitality businesses, using the Shared Prosperity Funding granted by the Government.

Eight events have been organised in advance of Rutland’s peak trading period for the visitor economy, which will take place once a fortnight between January and April.

Jason Allen, chairperson of Discover Rutland said: “I feel now is a very exciting time for tourism in our county, and we are delighted to build upon this with our business support programme.

“We recognise the importance of supporting our local businesses, especially at a time when many are facing challenges and uncertainty.

“This will provide many local businesses with, free of charge, first-class training opportunities, which will enable them to invest directly in their team.”

Rutland businesses will be limited to an initial enrolment of two people per course, and booking will operate on a first-come-first-served basis.

The programme includes a wellbeing workshop, first aid and fire warden training, and accessibility awareness.
