Care home fun day raises hundreds for residents in Tixover

Care home residents are looking forward to spending the profits from their summer fun day.

Tixover Care Home opened its doors for the event on Saturday which was attended by the residents' families and members of the public.

The fun day included bric a brac, clothing and craft stalls which raised more than £300 for the residents' fund, which is spent on special activities and treats.

Activities coordinator Marie McIntyre said: "It was really busy with standing room only. The residents had a wonderful time and will now decide what to spend the money on."
