Edenham Preschool children plant oak trees in Grimsthorpe Castle Estate as part of the Woodland Trust's Big Climate Fightback
Children from a village preschool will be able to show their own children and grandchildren trees they planted in the fight against climate change.
Edenham Preschool children planted 10 oak trees in the Grimsthorpe Castle Estate as part of the Big Climate Fightback, organised by the Woodland Trust.
The oaks were grown from acorns collected on the estate.
Julie Marshall, proprietor of Edenham Preschool, said: “Every day our children are engaging with nature and exploring the wonderful grounds at Grimsthorpe Castle Estate.
“We’re delighted to make our own small contribution to help combat the impact of climate change.
“In years to come the children will be able to bring their own children and grandchildren to see the trees they planted today.”
The trees were planted as part of their outdoor learning and forest school activities, where they learn about the benefits trees provide to the environment.
