Coronavirus: four cases diagnosed in Northamptonshire




The number of diagnosed coronavirus cases in Northamptonshire has increased to four today (Sunday, March 8).

As of 9am, 244 people have been confirmed as positive for COVID-19. Two UK patients have died and 18 have recovered.

Lincolnshire has one diagnosed case, as does Leicestershire, while one person from Peterborough has the illness. No cases have been recorded in Rutland.

The new cases in Northamptonshire are believed to have been as a result of travel to Italy, which has 7,375 cases and is the most highly infected country in Europe.

In the UK cases rose from 209 yesterday to 273 today - the biggest rise yet.
