Rutland police arrest man on suspicion of drink driving




A driver was taken into custody to sober up after being stopped by police.

The 25-year-old failed a breath test at 4.30am this morning (Wednesday) in Oakham Road, Ashwell.

It gave a reading of 109 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

A Facebook post by Rutland Police said: “Having being arrested he's sobering up in a custody cell before he can be charged later today.

“This will have a huge impact on his life and possibly even his career.”

A police spokesman confirmed the man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and remains in custody.
