Stamford Orchard Group to host Blossom Day event

A day to celebrate fruit trees and flowers will be held at a community orchard.

Stamford Orchard Group is hosting its annual Blossom Day and Picnic at the Community Orchard in Christchurch Close, Stamford, on Sunday, April 30, between 11am and 3pm.

The day, part of the annual European Orchard Day, is intended to be a celebration of fruit trees, flowers and food.

There will be music in the form of two appearances each from a Ukranian Choir; the Gazebo Folk Band, and a community choir, with a finale from Stamford Ladies Choir at 2.45pm.

Stalls will be selling a range of apple products along with cider, Pimms, and honey, plus bird and bat boxes.

There will also be face painting, poetry, and an art pop up.

Visitors are welcome to bring a chair, blanket and picnic, for what organisers said would be a 'joyous occasion'.

Some parking spaces have been offered at Northfield garage (Emlyn’s Street, PE9 1QP). Toilets are available at Christ Church, Green Lane (PE9 1HE).
