Lincolnshire Lives hosts CPR session in Folkingham

A charity that responds to 999 emergency calls has held a free CPR session.

Gareth Davies, MP for Stamford, Bourne and Grantham, sent an invitation to every household in Folkingham to learn CPR with Lives, the Lincolnshire First Responders.

The free event was held in the Market Place on Saturday morning.

Lives CPR champion, David Harvey, taught 'bystander CPR' and how to use a community access defibrillator.

Also attending the course was Kelham Cooke, who is a Lincolnshire county councillor for Stamford and leader of South Kesteven District Council, and Martin Hill, the leader of Lincolnshire County Council.

Mr Davies said: "Knowing CPR can save a life, I was very pleased to welcome Lives to Folkingham to give training to residents.

"I was delighted with the turnout and grateful to Martin and Kelham, our local county and district council leaders, for joining me to welcome them."

According to the Resuscitation Council, effective CPR more than doubles the chance of someone surviving cardiac arrest.
