Citizens Advice South Lincolnshire shares details of upcoming events
South Lincolnshire Citizens Advice answer your questions every month.
This month the question is: I’d like to help support CASL. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time available to volunteer. Are there any other ways I can support you? If you have any upcoming fundraising events, I can help promote them. I know the work that you do makes a vital difference to the local communities of South Lincolnshire.
And their answer?
Citizens Advice South Lincolnshire (CASL) are a local charity here to support the residents of South Lincolnshire. CASL’s key principles are to:
Give people the knowledge and confidence they need to find a way forward, whoever they are and whatever their issue
Improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives
CASL are supported by volunteers who are at the heart of South Lincolnshire. The charity takes on issues that can affect every one of us, every single day. We want to build a fairer society for everyone.
For every £70 CASL receives, a client is assisted in dealing with their presenting issue. This can mean that they are able to stay in their home, access emergency support or deal with debt.
A substantial difference is made to the lives of the people who come to CASL for support.
What are CASL doing for fundraising?
One of our main events of the year is two staff members at CASL taking to the skies to raise money for our vital services needed by the local community. Erica is one of the staff members who will be stepping outside of her comfort zone of training volunteers and staff; leading on community engagement and taking overall responsibility for personal development of volunteers to jumping out of an aeroplane.
Erica says: “Ever since joining CASL in 2019, I have found that the amazing work of Citizens Advice. I have always said I would love to do a parachute jump for a charity and five years later, someone took me seriously. I have found my passion in helping people to help others. The great work that staff and volunteers do is such a valued service to the local community. I regularly attend events and talks to raise awareness of who CASL are, what they do and why they are needed. Along the way, I have met amazing people and formed strong connections with other partnerships who have the same passion we do for helping people”
