Number plates stolen in Stamford and Bourne

Police across the area have seen an increase in number plate thefts.

Two number plates were taken from vehicles in Seaton Road, Stamford overnight between Friday and Saturday.

A car was also targetted in Windle Drive, Bourne in the night of Tuesday to Wednesday last week.

When number plates are stolen they are often put on cars to allow crimes to be committed without the vehicle being traced back to the criminal.

Sgt Emma Crisp from neighbourhood policing officer for Stamford and Bourne has urged people, where possible, to park their cars in their garages and make sure number plates are secure to prevent this from happening.
