Letter of the week: Burghley Park is an asset to town
What an asset Stamford has in Burghley House and its park on its doorstep.
On Saturday we went and found families covering the park having picnics in the sunshine. Entry and parking, as always, free and polite.
Kids simply having fun on the grass. and well-behaved people, and happy dogs there too, showing off their friendliness. All cute ears and tails.

After a walk around, we took another look at the stalls, selling lovely food and local drinks.
Nothing was too dear. And no undue pressure to buy.
My friend reported today of a show in Surrey £25 just to enter, where a German sausage in a bun is £9, And I thought of the well-managed, generous public day yesterday at Burghley, once again.
Bravo Burghley!
