Morrisons submits plans for 1,520 solar panels on roof of Stamford store

A planning application has been submitted that would see more than 1,500 solar panels installed on a supermarket roof if approved.

Gondola Pro, based in Dewsbury, has applied to put 1,520 solar panels on the roof of Morrisons in Uffington Road, Stamford.

If approved by South Kesteven District Council, this would see all flat areas of the roof covered.

A spokesperson for Morrisons said: "We have submitted a planning application to install solar panels on top of our store in order to use renewable energy and save on carbon emissions."

If plans go ahead, the work to install them will not affect the opening times of the supermarket.
