GCSE results 2024: Bourne Grammar School pupils celebrate top grades
The wait is finally over for GCSE pupils who were keen to see if their hard work has paid off.
Teachers and pupils at Bourne Grammar School were celebrating this results day as about 54% of all grades awarded were 7 or above.
Nearly 92% of all pupils obtained at least a grade 5 in English and maths.
Akshaya Tirchunapalli secured a full suite of grade 9s while Ellie Bannister, Jessica Burton, Emma Dennis, Olivia Dunicz, Hasini Vijayasankar and Lincoln Woolf achieved 8s or 9s in every subject.
Headteacher Alastair Anderson said: “I want to congratulate each and every one of our Year 11s for their dedication and commitment over the last two years.
“GCSEs are valuable qualifications that evidence excellence and open doors to future pathways.
“We expect over 90% of our pupils to return to study A-levels, and we know that they will all continue to flourish.
“Well done to them all and to the academic and pastoral staff who supported them all on their journey.”
Sixth form applications at Bourne Grammar School are at record levels this year.
