Bourne Westfield Primary Academy pupils raise money for their school

In a change from tradition, Bourne Westfield pupils donned reindeer antlers and ran to raise money for the school.

The children ran different distances, dependant on age and despite the colder temperatures; all were eager to participate.

Sponsorship money is still coming in, but to date, in excess of £1,400 profit has been raised.

All those who raised money will be entered into a prize draw where six lucky winners will receive a Christmas hamper packed with festive goodies.

Amanda Nightingale and Jo Challinor, co-chairs of Friends of Westfield, said: “We were looking for a slightly different festive event that the children could enjoy. One of the committee suggested a reindeer run.

"It’s been super fun and we are so blown away by the enthusiasm of the children and support from all of the parents and friends.

"Plus, when else can you get away with wearing a reindeer onesie to a school event!”
