B668 between Greetham and Cottesmore closed due to fire

A road has been closed while emergency services deal with a vehicle fire.

The B668 between Greetham and Cottesmore is shut this afternoon (February 24) due to a car fire caused by a two-vehicle crash.

Leicestershire Police officers are urging drivers to use alternative routes.

PC McKinnon said: “Very luckily nobody was injured here, but the amount of damage and disruption caused was pretty immense and took a number of services to deal with.”

The Rutland-based officer added: “Collisions like this serve as a timely reminder that it's not always excessive speed that causes accidents.”
