The Deepings School celebrates a successful batch of A-level and BTEC results – with students including Great Britain cyclist Jacob Bush
The waiting is finally over for pupils at The Deepings School who were finally able to pick up their A-level and BTEC results.
The school is celebrating a successful year which has seen a pass rate of 99% and almost all of its students achieving a place at their first-choice university.
In a year where national grade comparisons are against 2019, The Deepings School has improved.
A notable success has been Jacob Bush, who alongside studying for A-levels has also recently represented Great Britain and The World Cycling Championships, coming fifth in the under 23 World Cycling Championships Time Trial. He will be pursuing his career in cycling and has been signed to the international development squad based in the Netherlands.
Kirstie Johnson, headteacher at The Deepings, congratulated pupils on their achievements.
She said: “This year was always going to be particularly challenging, however I am delighted so many of our students have risen to this challenge and excelled in their examinations. They have secured excellent destinations for their continued study and I wish them well for the future.”
Pupils will soon be heading off to embark on university courses in biomedical science, quantity surveying, creative writing and nursing. Degree apprenticeships are gaining popularity, with pupils taking up engineering and policing through this route.
