Scouts enjoy trip to twin group in Norway
Scouts from Oakham All Saints’ Scout Troop have recently returned from another successful trip to Norway as part of a 68 year twinning with 4th Kristiansand Scouts.
Oakham could only muster five scouts and a young leader this year as they set off on a two week trip to see their friends in Norway for the bi-annual return visit to the Norwegian troop they have been twinned with and visiting regularly since 1950.
They camped an hour north of Kristiansand in Evja for the first week and then returned south to stay with local families.
Scout leader Julie Henderson said: “We have a remarkably strong link with Kristiansand and we are proud to be able to continue this long standing tradition.
"It teaches them about life in other countries whilst giving them exciting experiences and making new friends.”
