Baston teacher brings Bilinguasing children's language school to Deepings, Bourne and Stamford
A teacher is passing on her love of Spanish to a new generation - from babies upwards.
Amy Wild is part of language school BilinguaSing and is set to extend her music-led baby and children Spanish groups to the Deepings, Bourne and Stamford.
Amy, who runs classes in Peterborough, starts sessions at the Deepings Community Centre from September 20, for 0-4 years on Thursdays, and for Reception and Key Stage 1 children on Tuesdays.
She fell in love with the language at school.
"Thanks to my amazing teachers it quickly became one of my favourite subjects," said Amy. "However, it wasn’t until I moved to Tenerife when I realised how much of an important life skill it is. It is such an important language."
Amy, 23, spent a year in Tenerife teaching young children at a local school before covid lockdowns in Spain forced her to return home to Baston.
Determined not to let it stop her dream, she earned a first class degree in Spanish and began teaching children online all over the world, with recent students from Miami and Hong Kong.
Amy also uses sensory play and movement in her classes and believes early years learning is a real boon.
"Babies and young children have an incredible capacity to absorb languages so the sooner they start to hear it, and sing it so that they remember it, the better," she added.
